I’ve seen in other posts that some (OttoKerner…) think this is a bad idea. Unfortunately, they are wrong.
They are wrong because it should be the customer’s choice. It is profoundly annoying when I wish to rearrange my libraries to have all of the things I’ve moved should up as “Recently Added” when all I did was move them to another drive (or maybe another library). I understand why it was technically recently added, but hopefully the developers can understand that it was not actually recently added.
This becomes even more of an issue if one is struggling with “Plex Dance” issues and/or with spotty hardware – my external USB like to “go away” from time-to-time and when they return, Plex often considers everything on them to be Recently Added!
If I were allowed to choose exactly what Recently Added meant, I could avoid ALL of my problems, since I encode and tag all of my media files before adding them to Plex, they will ALWAYS have a new date when I add them. And !#$%&^&, that’s the date when they were Recently Added! Not two years later when Plex discovers them for the umpteenth time!
