now that there is a huge music feature update it would be the right time to add sonos support.
what use is all the playlist features if i can't push them to my sonos players.
there are probably different levels of sonos integration but the very basic push music to the sonos players as to an airtunes device should be possible at least. but not from the client but directly from the server.

Would be very handy to integrate Sonos and Plex together.
This would make many Sonos owners happy since Sonos has a 65K track limit.
Subsonic has a Sonos integration that is very well integrated in the Sonos echo system and if Plex Media server could get the same functionality I for one would be a very happy Sonos and plex owner.

Please develop SONOS support. I currently run Subsonic alongside Plex just so I can integrate my music library with Sonos. But it’s support is incomplete (doesn’t handle tagging well, and some types of searches are not supported) and it seems so silly to have to run two servers for the same thing.
Subsonic is an open-source project. I can’t believe Plex doesn’t have the resources to implement the SONOS API. If done well, I am sure it would generate sales since many SONOS owners need a solution to the 65K file limit when adding your own music via file share. Subsonic is the only solution right now, but many of us crave a better one and would gladly pay $150 for plex just for that.

A lot of other services supports Sonos, so hopefully they have an api you can use. Would make plex my only go-to-app for film,tv and Music
there is an api. and it is documented. and it used in other projects. and it would be great to have in fhem.

It’s so annoying to see all Sonoses listed when casting something from the app.
Even the LG stock player manages to cast to the Sonos.
Plex is becoming better and more usable with each release =D> . But without connecting devices it doesn’t make much sense for us.
This would be a great feature. I personally think the focus should be shifted to include all general music players though. Sonos is one, but there are others.

Sonos recently announced that they are focusing more of their efforts on streaming services. This means that they will never fix their 65K track limit. Please send Plex Media Server to the resque!
Sonos will never fix the 65K limit. It would require a fundamental architecture change for them, and it makes a lot more sense to use services rather than built-in indexing anyway.
I don’t want them to fix it. I just want Plex to be able to be a SONOS server.
I would enjoy Plex even more than I already do if it supported Sonos streaming.
What is the status of this feature request?
Can someone from the Plex team give an indication if Sonos is on their radar or not? Making Plex server function as a service in the Sonos world would make me so happy.
