Add support for ISO-639-3 language codes

Hi, I have a library with a lot of foreign movies, and while filtering them by audio language I notice that some of the audio language values don’t have English labels. Some examples are:

  • Apocalypto (2006): This appears as “myn” which should be “Mayan”
  • Rockers (1978): This appears as “jam” which should be “Jamaican” or “Jamaican Patois”

Would it be possible to add at least English labels for all of the ISO 639 language codes? I note that in the standards English labels are already provided.

I suppose you’re requesting for Plex to support ISO-639-3 language codes.

From the documentation / support articles, Plex appears to support ISO-639-1 (2-letter) and ISO-639-2/B (3-letter) codes. Mayan and Jamaican languages are not part of that spec.

Though there’s already a dedicated suggestion to support Mayan language (even if the suggestion currently has no votes).

Where [Language_Code] is defined by the ISO-639-1 (2-letter) or ISO-639-2/B (3-letter) standard.

Ah yes, I’ve retitled this thread to be more accurate, thanks!
