Adding a library language (for metadata)

What is needed to add a language for the library?

 

My language is not in the list of languages and therefore I'm not able to get the metadata that is available on TMDB in my language.

 

I've been using XBMC for years but PLEX is much more up to my needs apart from this issue.

Isn't it just a matter of adding one language code to the source of available languages for tmdb?

Please add Icelandic to the TMDB language options. I’ve been waiting almost two years for this simple update. The language code is “IS”.

I’ve bumped our internal issue about this. That said, I checked several super big/popular movies on TheMovieDatabase and none of them had an Icelandic version listed. Is there actually Icelandic content on TMDB?

Yes there is a lot of Icelandic content and I would be happy to add a lot more my self. I also suspect that the local community of Plex users would do so also as soon as you add the language :slight_smile:

Thank you for the examples. Star Wars VII definitely did not have Icelandic available previously because that’s one of the “super big/popular” movies mentioned earlier that I checked.

Apparently some local guy must have translated it recently (so there are more than me). I translated a few other popular movies after I sent you the list (from the popular section; Popular Movies — The Movie Database (TMDb)). And as I said, I’ll definitely translate hundreds as soon as the Icelandic library version is available - except you want it done prior to adding it in Plex :wink:

Any news on this now 18 months after you bumped up the issue?
