Adding home videos, which scanner to pick?

I’m adding a home videos library and there are three scanner choices:

  1. Plex Movie Scanner
  2. Plex Video Files Scanner
  3. Plex Video Files

What is the difference between 2 and 3?

That’s exactly the question I came to the forum today to ask, after looking at the scanners help page.

Same question here - I have old family movies, named for the production they were in, followed by the year. Like, Fiddler on the Roof - 1998. Which scanner should I use?

@lummoxocara For that type of video, I use a library of type “Other Videos” and use the “Plex Video Files” scanner (#2 on the list) and the “Personal Media” agent. The file name becomes the Title tag and I edit the other tags (e.g. date) manually.
