Whenever I add files to my movies library, they will show on multiple players (Roku stick and Ruku) as multiple movies libraries, BUT will not show in Manage > Libraries in the web interface.
The two mp4’s that are currently there are in the path home/trekker182/Videos
I made plex own that folder.
Any one ever heard of this?
Also, when I try moving move mp4’s to the same folder from an external HD after I made plex the owner, it says I don’t have permission to create it at the destination.
I did add myself to the plex user group by typing:
sudo adduser trekker182 plex, but when I group myself root just shows.
I’m on the latest version of Ubuntu Desktop 20.04.2.
When I add files on the internal drive , it does make the library with the two mp4 movies , but they don’t show in the web interface on the Ubuntu Desktop plexx server.
They show on both clients multiple times (because at first I thought it was permissions so I made home/Videos 777 & it’s user plex.
The permissions issue with adding more mp4s to that directory didn’t happen until after I made plex the user for that directory.
I’m going to try rebooting since it did a few updates since I installed plexx the same time I first booted from Ubuntu Desktop.
If it’s still happening I’ll try accessing Ubuntu’s server from my Windows plexx interface and see if it’s library is visible there like in my Roku clients.
If still no , I’ll re-install Windows 10 and just use that lol.
