Adobe Lighroom support?

Hi.

I’ve been a happy user of plex since 09, and I have to say that it’s the single most amazing media software out there.

As far as I’m conserned, it got everything I’ll ever need, exept lightroom support…

This have been mentioned as in development for years, but have never been released?

Anybody now what the status on this is?

Did you ever get a response? I would love to know if I can intigrate lightroom with Plex... Would be cool to have my lightroom catalogue linked to plex...

+1 on this

I am a Lightroom user as well. I think this plugin is probably not feasible.

The problem with Lightroom is that since it's non-destructive, the images remain at their original state, untouched.

So to speak Lightroom keeps negatives and you must develop them to see the final result.

I.E. only when you export the image it is rendered to include its "develop settings".

As you make adjustments Lightroom only records the history of what you do and creates on the fly a preview for you to work.

There is a cache of previews used to speed up browsing the library as well, but even assuming that you can read it, the contents there might change unpredictably.

Of course if you always export all photos, then well... just add the folder to your Plex Library :)

The previews are unreliable at best.  I looked into this at one point and did enough digging around to be able to extract some previews and it frankly wasn't worth it.  Some were up to date, some were not and more importantly they mostly showed in the wrong colorspace (they were relying on LR to tell them which colorspace you were using -- which most times is not sRGB which is what you would want in this type of situation -- so in other words if you were working in Adobe RGB or ProPhoto RGB within LR your photos would end up looking pretty terrible without a ton of hoop jumping).

I would have to agree that the best way to do this would be to export your photos as jpegs and add them to a PMS section.
