Adult Film DB

Adult Film DB agent

AdultFilmDB.bundle.zip (2.95 KB)

This also makes a decent backup agent if you need to fill in some blanks: https://github.com/plexinc-agents/AdultDVDEmpire.bundle

Thank you, Spaceman!

aha, busted!

Hate to come off like a complete noob, but I’m having trouble getting ANY of the .bundle files off GitHub, INCLUDING the AdultDVDEmpire.bundle to function. Can somebody give me a step by step instructional for either downloading or building the bundles so they will function in Plex?

Thanks!

A simple download and double-click should install .plexapp files automatically.
For bundles you need to drop them in ~/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Plug-ins

Open the media manager and either create a new section or edit an existing one.
You should see the new agent in the primary metadata agent drop down.

Once you've selected the agent and selected update section you should see results pop up in the media manager.

If you're still having trouble let me know which part of that procedure is failing so I can help you diagnose.

Thanks for putting in the work. I’ve tried it but unfortunately it doesn’t seem quite as good as the other bundle (DVDEmpire) for my films - it picks up about 60-70% and then I have to right click and use the other metadata agent to correct the rest (wrong titles). dvdempire agent gets about 95% right first time.

Trying to figure how to write one (steep curve) to see if I can get data off xonair or similar sites. not sure how much luck I’ll have it’s all over my head right now!

hi guys,

tried to get both agents running. all are installed and in the media manager both agents are selectable. but unfortunately i don’t get any metadata downloaded.

if i select manually “fix incorrect match” by clicking on the movie it “no match”. i also tried several times to match manually by “fix incorrect match”, “search” and choosing the three available agents which are for me:

  • adultdvdempire
  • adultfilmdatabase
  • freebase

both adult agents don’t show any results but, funny enough, freebase shows most of them. if i select one matching out of freebase, it seems that the metadata is updated but after finishing there are no posters, metadata, etc …

    what am i doing wrong?

have a nice collection of approx 100 movies and wifey is insisting to watch them with me

    HELP PLEASE …

Hi guys, I’ve installed the Adult Film DB Agent, but I’m not getting any metadata for the films. I’ve even tried to get the metadata for films which I know are available on adultfilmdatabase.com, but still no luck. When I click ‘Fix Incorrect Match’ it finds the film, but the metadata doesn’t download. Any ideas? Thanks.

You can check the freebase site to see if the film has the info filled in. A quick check here shows many of those don't have images.
Unfortunately all you can do in that case is fill in the info yourself on the freebase site.

If it isn't grabbing posters try restarting PMS. If you're looking for other metadata it might not be filled in by the agent. Let us know what kind of metadata you're looking for and I'll see if I can edit the agent to handle it.

New version posted at top. Should fix issues people are seeing.

Same problem here, covers loads fine, but no metadata, have over 50 movies and no metadata not even production year.

New version of AdultFilmDB posted at top of thread.

Fixed: Performer names now load (site change)

New: Performer thumbs

New: Director, Genres, Studio

New: Series are now added to your collections. Films that are not part of a series are added to the “Other” collection.

Same problem as before, no metadata is loading.

Same.

This works pretty well, except for that there is no Metadata on the films that are found. On a related note, the ‘AdultDVDEmpire’ bundle that was linked to unzips as the contents of a package file rather than a bundle - how do I put those back into a bundle again so that I can use this as my alternative lookup?

Nice job spaceman!

Any chance you can write a similar script for “Excaliburfilms.com” ??

Using XBMC to test a scrapper for that site found a match for EVERY title, EVERY time…and believe me, that isn’t an easy task given the number of titles released daily.

Maybe there already is one?

I can’t find one though, except for XBMC and my coding skills are non-existant…BEG, GROVEL to anyone that can put one together - can supply you with the XBMC scrapper if that is of any use?? (currently works in XBMC no probs)

CHEERS!!

Knight.

No idea why metadata wouldn't be loading. Have a look in Console to see if anything seems up.
Bundles are just folders with a name that ends in .bundle
The top level item in there should be the Contents folder

It might be fun to look at the XBMC code but I doubt it would be very useful. I'll add the agent to my rainy day list.

Thanks Spaceman!

I hope it pisses down for a month soon

Is this Metadata agent only compatible with Mac OS? I’m running the Windows Media Server in Windows 7. I’ve unzipped the bundle folder into the plugins folder and restarted the media manager. Shouldn’t the added metadata agent show up when adding or editing a section?

It should work everywhere. Have you been able to install other 3rd party agents?
