Albums listed multiple times if all tracks not on server

  1. unfortunately not. It is always a combination of folder structure and tags now.
  2. Plex doesn’t store Genre per track, yet. However, it supports a ‘Style’ per track from allmusic.com. Genre per track is still not ready.
  3. Don’t use it. It slows down scanning considerably.
  4. I think it simply uses the first one. Or it might be using the one which is tagged as ‘Front’.
Anyway, I don’t recommend to embed lots of artwork into your files. Just get a really high resolution version of the front cover and place that as a file named cover.jpg into your album folder.

That was fast! :slightly_smiling_face:

OK, not a big deal at the moment, as I can use “Merge” when I notice it.

Ok - “not ready” implies “it’s on the list”, and I’m fine with that.

OK, it would be nice, but not a big deal. I’ll add that to “wish list”!

OK, I’m asking because (as I’m sure you’ve noticed), I’m a bit OCD and sometimes I like different album art for different tracks, such as the original covers for different tracks on a compilation.

I like to push the envelope I guess!

Now that I’m really getting a feel for how Plex “thinks”, I’ll just experiment to get the results I’m looking for. I’ll probably post anything interesting I discover, if that’s ok. If I mark your last response as “Solution”, does that lock out further responses?

Thank you so much for all your help!

That’s definitely not supported. It is Album Art after all, not Track Art.
