I’m not here to bother you, but just to help!
Like you all, I’m a Plex user and really in love with it.
We’ve created an app called AlertFilm which got a Plex integration.
The app is free and only available on the AppStore for the moment.
Basically, AlertFilm tracks all movies and TV shows you want to see and send you notifications when they come out.
It’s a real assistant, you will be able to know when and where to watch them. Create watchlist, mark movies as watched, have a counter view of the time spent watching movies… and much more.
Currently AlertFilm helps you to:
- Discover easily what’s new on your Plex Media Server through a curated Playlist
- Get notified when new movies or shows are available on your Plex
- Watch them in two taps
The purpose of my message is to get feedback.
We want to improve our offer for Plex users so we would like to know what would you need from our app.
Right now, we are working on new features:
- Adding a movie to your watchlist will automatically inform your Plex admin about it. So he will easily know which movie or show users are waiting for.
- After login, import automatically all movies marked as watched on Plex

I’ve downloaded your app. Pretty nice but I think you’re right, Plex should be better integrated. What else do you plan to had more features by the next month?
Would be awesome to have a sync of movies watched (I love your counter by the way ^^). Could you also had French translation?

This is the perfect app for people who share a PLEX server with several friends because:
- You can discover what’s most wanted in your plex community
- You can know (as an admin) what you should add on your server
- You can be notified when a new movie or TV Show you are waiting becomes available on your server

any plans for an android version?
Have downloaded it and had a play but not sure i am getting it.
Maybe I need some non-admin users to also add things to see what is happening.
I don’t see where - as an admin - I see what others are requesting.

First, thanks for your “feedback”, it’s helpful to know the value is not clear enough.
If you are logged in with your Plex account, you should have a “Wanted in your PLEX Community” playlist.

The small number shows the number of people who want this movie in your community.
I hope that is helpful, feel free to post again if you have any other issue.
Dear ben and Alertfilm staff. Thank you very much for this nice app. But i got one issue. A friend from my plex community added some movies and series request. So to make a try with your app, i added those videos to my plex server. Does it means he supposed to get an alert of the availability on his phone ?
Also, when i check in your app on those specific request, the app said the videos are not available on plex ?? where am i wrong ?

Yes, he is supposed to get an alert of the availability on his phone!
Maybe we have some issue connecting to your server. I’ll send you a PM right away in order to debug this.
