It would be nice if it was possible to set a priority order for custom URLs, rather than having clients simply try every URL and pick whatever responds first.
My reason for asking for this feature is that my ISP doesn’t support static IPv4’s any more, and places everyone behind a CGNAT. This unfortunately means that using Plex remote can be quite tricky if the client isn’t on a IPv6 network.
To work around this I’m currently using a VPS to provide an IPv4 address, and tunnel the traffic back to my home network. However this VPS is a little bandwidth constrained, and it would be much better for clients to directly connect via IPv6, if that option is available to them.
With the current custom URLs it’s completely pot luck as to which URL will get picked first, which results in wasted bandwidth. But simply allowing servers to publish which URLs clients should prefer, and have clients honour that, would make a big difference in my situation.
Reading around the forum it seems that this change might be a little on large side, but I figured I would throw the request out there in case it’s a possibility.
