Hi I have a request for something that has been an issue for a while now. When I have a special for a show where the special is a cross over (jimmy neutron and the fairly odd parents power hour comes to mind as a childhood example) I have to choose which show I feel it should be placed in and have it missing from the other show even though the meta data exists on both shows. My request is to have a way to link specials to different shows (maybe a context menu option along with a fix match style of matching shows? Either way this would be a great feature because every time I want to watch one of these cross over episodes I have to look in both places to see which one has it. Thanks
Handling this inside Plex will probably be tricky as Plex currently has no means to know that an episode belongs to multiple shows.
You should however be able to create a hard-link of your file in the 2nd show’s folder… This will present the file in both places (without duplicating the space). Hard link availability will depend on your OS and only works for media on the same drive/volume.
