Playlists are just a halfway thing of having actual favourites, as Emby Media has the option to add favourites for media, so that you can go straight to your marked shows/movies without having to trawl through endless titles.
I have managed users, and although they keep their own watch lists, this is something I get asked about a fair bit. I wonder if this is something on the road-map for the devs.
