Allow users to see and control their own activity

It would be very helpful for users to view (and control) their own current playback activity.

Similar to how the server owner can view all activity, the user can see their account activity and PLAYER CONTROLS. This would be amazing to skip music from another device, see what the girlfriend or kids are watching, pause or stop the playback, etc…

The “activity” should be made visible on Plex mobile phone apps too.

Have you already tested the remote control features (Plex Companion)?

I like the sound of the Plex companion, but explain to your parents or grandparents how to use yet another tool (can non-home users even use plex companion?).

It just needs to be a simple feature in the main plex app for end users.

Click activity in the top right of the plex app on android > oh look I can see what music is playing on my alexa device, skip this song > my 3 year old is watching terminator 2, hmm lets stop that playback and go put on something more appropriate

if those devices are a part of Apple HomeKit / Google Home, you can view active playback information for devices on your home network natively on your phone/tablet/etc.

the added benefit as you note is nothing new to learn or teach since it’s a standard UX feature of both major mobile OSes

All valid points but it’s still not native to Plex, which is the problem.

I dont want to have to open this and that to do something that could be one button in Plex. All devices across all locations would then be covered.
