It looks like only the primary account in Plex has access to the Programming Guide and Recording Schedule via the web app. I have my wife added as a friend via her own user account, and I would like her to be able to schedule recordings without requiring my account. A permission that could be toggled on each additional user account that would allow access to schedule recordings would be great. Is this being worked on, or is it in the pipeline for the near future?

Yep, me too.
My wife is already really mad that my user has a little crown on it and hers does not. As she is the primary TV-consumer of the household, I won’t be able to fend her off for long if she has to access our plex as me to schedule recordings

this is what’s holding me up from actually using the new DVR function…
I do record shows and movies, but limit it because I don’t have the time to walk everyone through the schedule to record what they want. nor do i have the time to hunt down what they want recorded because i’m given it by channel and time and plex doesn’t have that option. ie… AMC Wednesday 9:30 “some movie or show”,
So I wait for the next release and hope.

Yes. This is very much a needed feature of Plex DVR. Otherwise it’s a permanent no-go i my household
Plex realized there’s a need to have more than one user, but have stumbled in meaningful permissions granularity for the subordinate accounts. Ability to delegate delete and record permissions per account/library are glaring deficiencies.
I second that - a simple “Allow DVR access” (which enables full access to the DVR features) on a user account would be fine to begin with. Then they can think about granularity at some later point.
Don’t forget, this is still beta for now. There’s still more to come.
I’d love to see this also! A nice little checkbox at the user-level that says “Allow Scheduling of Recordings” .
I would agree with this feature as long as the user when a conflict is encountered setting up the recording could not “Prefer” their recording over recordings I have scheduled. Don’t want a friend setting The Bachelor to record and stopping my scheduled recordings of other shows.
