Amazon Fire 7 Plex app

Hi,

Both my kids have a Fire 7 with Plex. The issue I am having on both apps is playback is jittery and stops even when on the local network.

The server is more than capable, the local/remote streaming is set to original on both and the broadband is 74 down and 17 up. On my phone it works fine, on my TV it works fine. Even my brother in law half way across the country can watch things seamlessly. But on these tablets in the same room it will have problems.

I have read online that there is an issue with the Amazon plex app. Would installing the one from Play work better?

Also (stupid question) is the issues with the app going to be fixed?

I just figured out what the issue is. When in the app if you go to settings, video and deselect Use android media player at the bottom of the list it stops all the issue above. Unfortunately it then creates a new issue of lip sync. The sync slowly goes.

Anyone know of a fix to this new issue?

Same Problem here, but if you are on local network you can set the quality to “direct” … This makes it better for me.

The Android Media Player does not work well with Fire OS5. So if you have a Fire devices with OS5, you need to make sure this is off. If you are on an older Fire OS, you need this on as the new player doesn’t work well on that.

I am not seeing lip sync issues on my Fire 7. I have seen some reports of similar issues when enabling AC3 and EAC3 in the audio settings. Try turning those off and see if it helps.
