AMD GPU HW Transcoding support on Linux

I run unraid, as do many people. As with many other people, I’ve been using an nvidia GPU for transcoding, simply because it’s more convienent to run plex as a container on unraid than it is to manage a VM.

I have an AMD 5500 XT I would prefer to use for transcoding and use the NVidia for gaming, but I can’t, because plex doesn’t support it, because the demand isn’t there. But the demand isn’t there because plex doesn’t support it.

I won’t switch to windows, I would rather be 100% team red. I run a Ryzen 3900x and I need a discrete gpu regardless, but I’d prefer to be running with 100% amd.

Please, please, please support AMD GPU’s on Linux.
