Please consider adding Hardware Transcoding support to Linux. Intel/QSV is no longer the price/performance king, as recent Ryzen G-series processors have unlocked the ability to use on-die GPUs on Ryzen systems. Other media server platforms have implemented this capability, and the code is present upstream on Linux to enable AMD GPUs in native and Docker installations. Implementing this would allow even more price-conscious users to unlock the ability to hardware-transcode even just a couple streams at a time on a low budget.
There’s already a rather popular suggestion discussing to officially support AMD GPUs for hw-accelerated transcoding (putting aside it’ll already work for a number of them but isn’t officially tested/supported by Plex). I recommend you comment/vote in that thread in order to avoid cannibalizing votes from that existing thread.
