[Android App] nuVue for Plex - your media server sidekick

Purchased this app today. Working great; easy to setup; GUI is very clean; lot of options to configure. Well done.

Rocking this since last week also.  Well done.  Keep the enhancements coming.  Just got an Android Wear watch too yesterday.  Looking forward to seeing how that piece of tech gets in the mix with Plex (hopefully).

At the moment, no. nuVue does not maintain a full-time connection with your server(s). But I am investigating options for displaying 'now playing' information.

I'm the lone developer and this is just a "side project", so ETA's are difficult even for features that I am actively working on. This one is only in the concept phase--I haven't even done a proof-of-concept to see what is feasible. So, sorry, can't give a timeline.

Another go-round with Google over the Play Store listing for nuVue Shared. This one unfortunately ended in me having to remove all TV and movie posters from the listing screen shots and re-publishing under a new package name. That means if you use nuVue Shared or have friends/family you share you libraries with that use it, they will have to uninstall the current version and re-download it from the Play Store in order to continue to get future updates. Apologies for any inconvenience, but that was the only way to appease the powers-that-be.

Ain't too proud to beg. nuVue has been on the Play Store for six months now, and has grown in features and functionality steadily since day one. It has been well reviewed and rated by users, but just hasn't gained the exposure I had hoped. So I'm reaching out to the peeps here in the off-chance someone knows someone who knows someone who might be interested in doing an "official" review of the app. Testing license provided, of course. I have added a feature request to customize the email subject(s). And, as for the translation, now that I have gotten through the messaging/notification forwarding features that I wanted to add, localization is high on the priority list. I will most likely call on you for help with French when all of the strings are ready. Thanks for the offer.

There is a problem in the choice of recipients.

When I go to "setting" and "forwarding notification" and "recipients" when I check the recipients and when I scroll the screen, recipients checked to unchecked automaticaly. It's strange !

I'll have a look. My list of shared users is not big enough to scroll the screen, so I'm guessing it has something to do with that. Thanks for the report.

On my mobile, when i turn off the internet connexion (wifi, 3g...) Are the emails are even send to recipients ? (they are sent from my mobile?)

If your mobile has no internet connectivity (no wifi, no 3G/4G/LTE), then emails will not be sent. Currently, they are not held until connection is restored. If the notification forwarding is set to occur with the app, then the assumption is that there was connectivity to communicate with your servers, so there should be connectivity to send the emails. If it is set for a specific time and fails, it will currently not be retried. Honestly, I didn't think of that scenario, so I may have to improve the logic a bit.

To recap:

When the parameter has been set to "daily" and that the internet connection is not active at the time of the automatic transmission, emails are not sent.

The problem:

It is impossible to send the news after the activation of the internet connection (3G, WiFi ...)

Request Evolution:

Send emails that were to be sent when I reactivates the internet.

The notification (or message) emails come from 'noreply@nuvueapp.com' because it is actually being sent using that account via the nuvueapp.com mail server. In order for the message to come from you, you would have to supply the SMTP server information and credentials for that account. Which I don't want to have to mess with and validate, and which I'm guessing most users would not want to enter into the app. So I don't expect that this request will happen.

I'm affraid by the spam. I said that because when gmail / yahoo mail... massively receive mail from the same address to multiple recipients, they interpreted as spam.

 

It might be necessary that each have a different email address like this (but it will surely be tedious for you) :
