Nuvue wont refresh the libraries for some reason? What could cuase this?

Usually the only thing that would prevent nuVue from seeing newly added items in a library is connectivity issues with your server. Or if a particular library has been excluded in the Advanced Filters settings.

nuVue 2.3.3 is out. In addition fixing some lingering bugs and crashes, we've added support for music in What's Playing plus transcode/play state indicators. Enjoy.

So far, NuVue has been great :)

Just wondering if you could consider the following feature suggestion, if they are actually feasible.

Within the now playing section:

  • if we can show the total bandwidth currently consumed overall (to measure if we are hogging our uplink resources or not).
  • if we can show the amount of bandwidth each streaming user is taking from my server.

I'll have to dig a little deeper to get a firm answer on this one. It doesn't appear that I can get at any bandwidth information from the Plex web APIs. I'm guessing that some of the third-party tools that do display bandwidth are scraping the info from Plex log files or other local data that I just don't have access to. But I'll poke around a bit more and see what I can find.

Yes, we admit it has been all quiet on the nuVue front lately, which means its time to do some crowdsourced brainstorming. What do you want to see next in nuVue? What feature would make you say, "now THAT'S cool"? What would make it the perfect companion for your Plex or Emby setup? Share your ideas, no matter how pie-in-the-sky.

Alread shared my ideas in my previous reply

nuVue turns one year old!

nuVue 2.4 is rolling out and should hit your device in the next few hours. Here’s the changelog:

  • NEW: Added playback info on details screen for Now Playing items
  • NEW: Added support for secure Plex servers
  • NEW: Added option to turn off What’s New notifications
  • FIX: Fixed refresh indicator not showing if Refresh On Open was set

Lovely Update!

Thanks a lot for your continuous maintenance of nuVue, I use the App everyday.

I wonder if you can show the following on the Playback info details:

  • Quality Settings Bandwidth (ex, 4 Mbps) to know how much bandwidth the user has set up before streaming the file.

I’m getting regular “error scanning server” messages from Nuvue. Everything seems to be working correctly though.

Unfortunately, there is no bandwidth information made available by the Plex server. Neither the playback settings nor the current session’s actual bandwidth usage. Otherwise, I would love to include that info.

I am having trouble reproducing this, though it is happening to many users. Can you do me a favor and open a web browser, go to https://plex.tv and make sure you are signed in. Then go to https://plex.tv/pms/resources.xml?includeHttps=1 and https://plex.tv/pms/servers.xml?includeLite=1 and capture the output. Send the XML to immersiondesignstudio@gmail.com (don’t post it here). Hopefully that will give me some insight into what is occurring. Thanks.

Update is rolling out (v2.4.1) to fix issues with scanning Plex servers. Apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Tried it out on my backup Android phone. Pretty nice app. Wish it were for iOS. ~90% of my shared users have iPhones and would love these notifications!

Yeah, I’ve gotten quite a few requests for iOS. Unfortunately, I’m the lone developer on this and have neither the experience nor hardware to do any iOS development. So nuVue will remain an Android exclusive for the foreseeable future. Best case right now is to use the app’s notification forwarding feature to have emails sent to your iOS users. They can be configured to be sent when they app post notifications, daily, or on a custom schedule.

Ya i understand. Not worries! Thanks for the recommendation for notification forwarding via email. I will definitely look into it.

Achievement earned. Time for a sale!
