All my Android devices are failing to play. I’m prompted to restarted device and server. Roku and web play fine. Here’s were it gets weird. This is on my Readynas. My windows server still works. Both are running same version. Latest!
Notice this on Amazon Firestick too. Anyone else?
I’ve been running into similar issues. Switching to to the android player via the flag in preferences made it work, but I haven’t been able to dig in deeper. Works fine with the same channels on Xbox One and Web, and works fine after a recording finishes
I am new to all this and working out the bugs, but I can say this morning that none of the recordings I played back failed on my Nvidia Shield. I have not checked the Fire stick.
Roku is fine, pmp is fine and web is fine. Just android based like my phone and Firestick.
Anyone figure this out?
All I have is a Nvidia Shield. Everything plays back fine.
On the client device what do you have the streaming options set to? Settings / Video Quality - check the settings for Home Streaming and Internet Streaming. My Fire TV, Fire TV Stick, and Nvidia Shield are able to direct play everything on my server. My son is also able to direct play using his Fire TV Stick from his apartment.
I believe everything is set to original. All my media is 720 MP4. It’s always worked up until a few weeks ago. Firestick, s8, ZTE tablet, and Amazon tablet fail. Clients haven’t been touched since initially setup. They just started failing.

I am going over the internet so it is having to transcode. The transcode works just fine to other devices (Web, XBox One) but not to the Shield or Android devices.

The other devices are also streaming over the Internet?
Local or remote all fail for me.

Correct. Also worth noting is that (IIRC) it is only an issue during an in-progress recording. When it finishes and gets put in the library (no comskip or conversion) it will play on those devices without issue
Please provide logs from the app after recreating the issue.

Just gave it a try and it didn’t have the issue, however it was from a new phone. You guys may have solved it since I was slow in replying.
I cannot reproduce this issue, which is why I ask for logs.
I solved this issue by deleting my music from plex. I suspect database corruption of some sort. New issues since partial readd of some music. Roku fails on movies but not tv shows. Android, web, pmp, and Firestick work.
