Android stuck notification on Experience=TV - seems like a bug

Server Version#: 1.20.1.3252
Player Version#: 8.5.1.19778 (2c9485c3)

I just got plexpass and I’m playing around with the options. I’ve been playing random episodes and movies over the last couple of days to test stuff out. This morning I found the Android Plex App Settings->Experience->Application layout option and tried making it “TV”. As soon as I did that a huge notification list of all the in-progress videos popped up in my notifications list on my phone and I can’t swipe it away.

I have no way to interact with the TV mode on my phone so every time I touch the screen it wants to go back to mobile mode. I’ve tried clicking and swiping the notifications from within the TV and Mobile modes and they won’t go away. Even if I close the Plex app it is stuck in there. By the way, I have gone into the Settings->Notifications and turned off all the options in there and relaunched the TV mode to see if that helps, it did not.

Any tips on getting these notifications to go away? I’m thinking I’ll have to reboot my phone to get them to go away.

Thanks,
-Greg

Switch back to mobile layout. If you cannot, delete and re-install the app.

From the docs:

Application Layout

Determines if the layout the device will use:

  • Mobile – The device will use the app layout designed for mobile devices.
  • TV – The device will use the big screen app interface. (will not work on devices with only touch interface)

It more or less forces you to do this because you cannot manipulate the interface with swiping/tapping. I’ve also turned off the notifications in the settings menu and the notifications are still popping up periodically. They are not able to be swiped away. I’ll try reinstalling the app.

This worked, thanks!
