I would need some help with the Plex app for Android TV.
I recently bought an Hisense Q9g TV. In my case I am just using the TV speakers, so no pass through at all.
I am currently running in the following issue:
The playback of Hevc videos with eac3 audio is not working. The screen just stays black and the movie doesn’t play. The movies also has other ac3 audio files, and with those the playback works fine.
The problem I see is, that Plex tries to direct play the audio, even though the client clearly doesn’t support it.
If I cast the same movie to the built-in chromecast of the TV, Plex is able to direct stream/transcode the video/audio.
Anyone knows what’s going on here and why the Android TV app is not able to transcode the audio and direct stream the video like the built-in chromecast does?
