With animated GIFs created automatically on my phone (Pixel 3) it would be great for them to display properly from within the PLEX player. Thank you!

Bumping this once again to keep this thread kickin. I have a lot of gifs in my photos library and theyā€™re completely motionless. Itā€™s a shame.

Google phones can take the motion photos saved as ā€œ.mpā€ files. They can be exported as .gif files.

Gif support is important because people want to save their memories this way.

A bit regretful about joining Plex, canā€™t even display images at full resolution

Plus one, gifs are becoming more common with tech advancing. Would be nice if Plex figured this out.

Is there an update on this? Currently there is still no GIF support which is a bit frustrating for a media server that supports movies, music and images/photos. Donā€™t think that this is a very exotic feature but something that should be included in every media sever that wants to taken serious.
