Any reason to change from Roku?

I am running Plex Server on a Windows box (not sure that matters for this). I have recently added my first smart TV which can run Plex all by itself. But when I installed it, I really didn’t want to connect it to my internet so I just kept my old Roku box. Our other TV is older so it requires some type of streaming device.

I have really not been very happy with Roku lately so I am thinking about changing. The VAST majority of what we watch on our TVs is through Plex and mostly recorded from over the air antennas. So we don’t care about gaming and all of the other bells and whistles.

So that brings me to my question - is one streaming device better than another in our situation? Or are they all about the same?

If you’re just using the TV speakers or a basic soundbar, the only differences you’ll see is navigating menus and speed of the app launch. Playback is exactly the same on the various sticks in that case. I went through the same when we upgraded my wife’s office to a newer TV running AndroidTV. No more streamer needed.
