Any updates on how to switch an existing TIDAL subscription to be through Plex?

There was a discussion started in November of last year by a Tidal/Plex user that couldn’t switch his Tidal billing through Plex and thus couldn’t access the benefits of the Plex pass. I have the same problem.

A moderator mentioned that billing through Plex was being ‘on hold’ for the time being because some users were experiencing some bugs with it.

Seeing that it’s been 5 months since this discussion occured, does anyone know if they’re still working on it and if it’ll be resolved anytime soon? Would I really need to cancel my current Tidal subscription and start all over again by directly signing up on Plex? I’d rather not, but if it’s the only option…

I can already access to Tidal’s library using Plex because I’ve linked it my Tidal account, but I would also like to be able to access to my local files and all the other benfits of having a Plex pass. That’s why I signed up for it in the first place.

Thanks for your help!

Here’s the link to the aforementioned discussion: Plex pass with Tidal Hifi

That is free and does not require a Plex Pass. You need to install the free Plex Media Server on your computer so it can stream your local files from your computer to the various Plex Players.

If you have not installed the Plex Media Server suggest you do so and understand the basics before buying anything.

Thanks for your answer BigWheel, I appreciate.

But just to make things clear for me, you do get to have a Plex Pass when you’re subscribed to Tidal, right?

Only if you get the Tidal Hifi+Plex Pass bundle through us. The Tidal Premium bundle through us only comes with a few music related extra Plex features and use our mobile apps.
