Tidal don't work

Hello,

Tidal does not work. I discovered a few days ago that I had been paying Yearly Plex Pass + Tidal Hifi since March 2021 without realizing it (I thought I was only paying for the Plex service). But that’s good news because I wanted to migrate from Spotify to Tidal (I was made to listen to the difference in quality which blew me away). In the administration of Plex, it is registered (TIDAL Account linked. You can re-authorize the TIDAL link.).
But it doesn’t work. The Music tab of the Plex app offers me to take a Tidal subscription. I only have access to samples of 30s of the tracks.

On the Tidal site, in my account, it appears that I have no subscription.
I had contact with Tidal, they checked all my mailboxes, all credit card information, telephones… nothing. Unable to find a valid subscription or account with them. They believe that my account has been created but no subscription has been validated.

I contacted Plex who asked me to do the various tips on this forum (which I had done scrupulously before contacting them). None gave results, so Plex told me to explain my problem on the forum for you to help me.

So I call on you for help.

I tell myself that the last solution would be to stop paying Tidal to Plex, take a subscription directly from Tidal and then hang it up… it will cost me the price of an annual subscription but since I have already lost my money for 9 months of Tidal subscription, I’m not 1 month closer. But it pisses me off that I don’t know where my money went.

Thank you again for your help.

That’s what I did. They told me to post my problem on the forum :
"Hi Joel,

If you still have issues, please post specific details in our support forums at Topics tagged tidal if you haven’t done so already. Our staff or friendly community should be able to help you out.

Kindest regards "

Here is a procedure for you to try:

  1. Go to your https://app.plex.tv/desktop#!/settings/online-media-sources account page and disable the Music/TIDAL provider
  2. On your Sign In | Plex account page, unlink TIDAL, and then link it fresh
  3. Back on the Online Media Sources page, enable the Music/TIDAL provider again
  4. Wait 10 minutes for changes to propagate
  5. Restart (e.g. force-quit and launch) the player app

Hello,

As I said in my introduction. I first tried the various procedures on the forum… including this one which I tried 2 or 3 times before contacting Plex.
Plex sent me an email asking me to perform this procedure, again, which I did.
Plex then sent me to this forum to read all the posts one by one and I tried all the suggested procedures. Also, I think in 3 days I had to do the procedure you advise me at least 10 times, I’m sorry, it doesn’t work in my case.

Anyway, Tidal confirmed to me that I had never had any subscription activated with them. I think the problem comes from there first. Plex never opened a subscription for me at Tidal.

In short, last night, out of spite, I managed differently. I canceled my Tidal subscription in my Plex account. I took a subscription from Tidal directly. I managed to then activate Tidal in Plex but above all and this is my holy grail, I can finally use the Tidal application: it works. Honestly, no matter how much I think, I don’t understand the point of having Tidal in Plex.
Can you tell me what this brings? apart from problems?

I think since April 2022 I have Tidal through Plex, it has never worked. I lost 152 euros. In any case, I remember that Plex’s after-sales service is a disaster, it systematically sends people back to the forum and its customers/users. It’s a shame… fortunately, with streaming platforms, we won’t need Plex soon. I also think that despite the thousands of movies I have on my Plex server, no one in my family uses it anymore. It was to relaunch that I wanted Tidal via Plex… we’ll do without it. Sorry for the tone of my message but I’ve been struggling for 3 days and I’m slightly, disillusioned and angry. I go around in circles and Plex leaves me to fend for myself.

Anyway, thank you for helping me.
Have a good day.
