API /GUI Req

I would like to have the hash field from the metadata_items table exposed in the xml of the web UI.

I could really use that for 3.Party programming, in order to avoid direct access to the database

And yes...this is a strange one, so likely no likes here....snifff, but....

Ninja's, could you please point the devs towards this, cuz. it's a very little change in their code, but will have a huge impact for me and others coding against the meta-data file-structure

/Tommy

EDIT: wrong table.....I need the hash field from the media_parts table, not from the metadata_items table

Not something we really want to expose, why would you want it? :)

Working on an offline indexer, and have so far a proof of concept working in my lab.

But need the location of where to put the index-sd.bif file, and the only way I can get to that, is AFAIK by accessing the database directly.

And adding to self....

My little project works perfectly on OpenSuse 12.3, but fails sadly on Win7x64 with a db connect error saying that the database is encrypted......SIGH....

(And yes....Running Python 2.7 on that as well)

So really could use this property, in order to completely avoid having to connect to the database, and instead could use your wonderful api :wub:

And remember Elan.....Christmas is very close so it would be a nice present from you to us  :rolleyes:

Currently running an indexing of +3500 items in my tv-section, with increased speed compared towards running it nativvly on my QNAP, and the util. on my QNAP is for Plex is 0.5% :D

@Elan

You asked for reasons, but never responded, so I guess you got sidetracked here?

Best Regards
