Apple TV 4K - Photos won't play or shuffle

If I select a Photo library folder and choose either Play or Shuffle, the first photo displays and then just stays there - it never goes to the next photo. The photo slideshow feature is broken.

My photo library is on an SMB share on a different server than my PMS.
The slideshow function works fine in other clients such as HTPC, Web, Samsung TV.

If I connect to the ATV from the Plex client on my iPhone, while the slideshow is sitting there on the 1st photo, the iPhone shows the same photo, and the [pause] button is greyed out. I can skip to the next/previous photos manually fine (using the phone or ATV remote). But the slideshow still just sits on that next photo. Pressing Play on the ATV remote does nothing.

Any help on why this is like this would be appreciated :slight_smile:

Please! Someone at Plex look into the shuffle photos option not working on Apple Tv 4k.

Some of us really miss not being able to do this. It’s been this way for a few years!

If I can be of assistance to help solve this, I’m there.

This is a prominent feature that is completely broken. Play and Shuffle do not work. At all.

Please - developers, respond and look at this issue!!

Two more versions have been released and this issue hasn’t been addressed!

What is the process for getting non-functioning features to be fixed in your new builds @alexjohnj ??

I see you have done some work on the photos feature in the Apple TV client latest release v8.4.

Can you explain the development approach the dev team uses that continually de-emphasises a long-standing serious bug whereby the Photo slideshow does not work - at all. The Play & Shuffle buttons only show one photo and then sits on that photo for ever.

Us Apple TV fans just really want to understand why other bugs are getting squashed and this one keeps getting overlooked (with no feedback why).
