The Plex app is great and all, but I would love to have my own movies side by side with the other content I am subscribed to. Please integrate with the new Apple TV app to make movie and tv show selections easier and quicker.

Yes, this! And also the iOS TV app (I imagine a bunch of code will be similar and can be reused. So maybe 2 birds, 1.5 stones)
Plex, care to comment?
Probably think it’s not possible in the short term though. It’s a closed app which Apple invites participants to, and I don’t think they’ll be inviting Plex in. The only chance is perhaps if they open up an API in future for any app to add its content to the TV app.

I’m sure they’ll do it when they can. But it’s up to Apple to provide API’s for things like Universal search, Siri, and integration with the TV app. Right now, it’s only open to providers not personal servers. And it’s not just Apple, Plex isn’t apart of the universal search function on the Fire TV as well.

This might be a pipe-dream, but including my Plex library in Universal Search would be SOOO useful.
I’d also like to list my iTunes purchased movies in Plex… Clicking on them would simply launch them in the Apple TV Movie app to stream it from there #tingles
