That’s similar to what I’m doing with JRiver. I’d prefer to use an app to control things though.
Another month come and gone.

It’s been over 2.5 years now since this bug first cropped up. I’ve pretty much lost hope in it getting fixed, but I’ll keep this thread up for as long as I can. It would be nice if someone would just say, we’re not supporting multichannel audio only on the ATV from now on. Then I could move on.

Yep. See, I never believed in the guy. Maybe that’s my problem. Hope everyone has a happy new year. It has to be better than 2021, which was marginally better than 2020.

Still waiting for multi-channel playback on Plex.
Clearly there’s no interest in fixing this and as a Plex Pass holder I find this to be pretty poor attitude …

Unfortunately, I’ve had other health-related priorities recently, so apologies on not replying more frequently, but this is still something we’re working towards.

Happy February everyone. The groundhog came out last week and said that it was going to be a long winter before Plex has multi channel music again. Just thought I’d pass that along.
We’re almost through the terrible two’s, as this thread turns 3 years old in 3 months. So, hurray? Still no great alternatives available on the ATV, so I guess we’ll just keep this thread open.
Well I finally gave in and bought a Plex Pass to get Plexamp in my new car so I guess I’ve lost whatever leverage I may have had! Guess we only have two ears anyway right?

So, does your car have a multi channel system?
Nah just two channels. It’s really convenient to be able to get to all my music through the Plexamp interface in the wireless Apple CarPlay setup.
I’ve been using Subsonic to do that for years. You have to punch a hole in your router, but software is solid and has been working for a long time. If you’re using CarPlay or the Android app, I’m not sure that it is supported though.
