The new media details changes in Apple TV build 7.19 (1583) are a huge downgrade in terms of being useful. The resolution and audio format has been removed which is pretty key information for a media server. I only watch files when they are at a certain quality or have certain audio types and without that information a 720p file stereo audio is indistinguishable from a 4K HDR copy with TrueHD audio. I can’t fathom what on earth prompted them to make such a significant downgrade to the experience.
Also the hub header text on the Home Screen seems to have been hit with a shrink ray. Very small and easy to miss. Similarly the text size on the media details has been reduced to an uncomfortable level.
Really disappointing release. Hope these are bugs and not deliberate design choices. Reverted to 7.18.1 and hope this gets resolved soon.
EDIT: 7.19 (1585) adds back the video and audio details along with ratings but they are now placed below the episodes in the bottom right side of the and away from all other details for that media making it look odd, out of place and an afterthought. I don’t know if this is a placeholder as part of some larger redesign as it doesn’t look like it should be its permanent home, or at least I hope not.
