Can we please have an option on the Apple TV player to filter the Live TV Guide by ‘HD Only’? This is the only thing now preventing me from switching from ‘Channels’.
Also, with the new Picture-in-picture… which is a great addition by the way!.. I find it is hard to get back to the program you are watching if you have just gone in to browse the guide.
The only way I have found to get back is to scroll all the way back to the channel you are watching and select it. Can you not make it so the initial press of Menu (back) goes back to the channel you were watching first, rather than to the side menu?
For what it’s worth, I went through my tuner settings and only picked the HD channels (and also the SD ones I actually wanted) In my lineup, Cox provides the channels twice, both in SD and HD. Unchecking the SD channels removed them completely from the guide so I don’t need to do any filtering.
Same here, Love the new feature, but your experience is the same as mine. If you are scrolling around the guide with the PiP, the only way to get back to what you are watching in full screen seems to be to navigate to that channel in the guide and select it. It would be great if 1 click on the menu button would pop the PIP back up to full screen!
The main reason I want the filtering is so the HD channels 101 onwards are at the top of the guide. I find it really annoying having to scroll almost to the bottom all the time to get to the main channels that I want.
In regard to the SD / HD, I need to keep a lot of duplicate SD / HD channels so when I want to, for example, watch the regional news I have to switch to the SD channel.
I feel there should be feature parity as much as possible (based on OS for the player) across the Plex players. On the Plex Web interface you can filter by ‘HD Channels Only’ so it can’t be hard to implement.
I appreciate not all features can be done universally, hence my comment “where ever possible, based on OS” but filtering HD channels surely isn’t an OS dependant issue.
