I don’t have a directory specified in that field. I believe it should just use the local drive, based on the documentation? I have over a TB of free space on that NUC.
Ok, do I just optimize the database to fix that? Or is there some other process that can clear out that table?
I have no idea. I haven’t added photos to it in quite a while. Is it processing photos? I did just install the Photos app on my Synology, but that wouldn’t be reflected in Plex logs, right?
Everything in your logs pointed to the EAE not working.
Increasing MAX_USER_WATCHES for [Notify] will allow that to work.
Restarting PMS allows it to pickup the new increased table size and load all the needed folders.
I will say, 400.000+ monitored folders is a lot of data. Each one occupies 540 bytes of memory (fixed). That could be adding up to 1/2 GB of fixed RAM usage lol
I’ve been keeping this media for over 20 years, so there is a LOT of media. So without actually removing the media, are there strategies for reducing the number of folders?
I’ll try to play the movie again when I get home from work and report back here.
Music and Photos, when properly organized, do represent the most “over abundant” folder counts. There’s nothing which can be done or likely should be done.
As long as you’re OK with consuming that memory, all is good. (32/64 GB memory in the host can handle that without flinching.
My watch folder table size is 262144 (256K). I don’t flinch at that because I also have 256GB of memory in the machine
I don’t know how old that article is, but there is no Enable Log Download option in Settings on my Apple TV device. I searched in General, and System, and a bunch of others, but can’t find it. I Googled it, and can’t find an article discussing how to download the logs for the Apple TV. When I go to the URL discussed in the article, it just says “Log downloading is not enabled, turn it on in settings and try again.” and when I search for that exact phrase I get zero hits. So I don’t know how to get the Apple TV logs…
