Can Apple TV, when set to ‘up next,’ connect to broadcast TV for sports? Is it possible for Plex to appear as an option when a sporting event is airing on OTA broadcast? For example, this week, the Ohio State game is being broadcast on Fox. In the Apple TV ‘up next’ section, it only displays the FOX app as the viewing option, which doesn’t work for me since I don’t have cable. However, the game is available on Plex because I use an antenna for OTA reception. It would be convenient if Apple TV could search my Plex Live TV guide to show what’s currently playing live.
There’s already an existing suggestion thread discussing an option for Plex to list all content from your server / accessible libraries. You might want to comment/vote in that thread… although it seems unlikely this is going to happen based on how that Apple TV feature works (it’s a significant difference to publish a streaming provider’s central / regional catalogues vs. per app / user catalogues).
I understand the issues with people’s personal catalogues, but was looking for items that are live only on my OTA in Plex. Not items that I’m recording. But I will definitely check out the other thread you mentioned.
