Me too, but I'd much rather see a structural solution to the whole 'gaming-library' issue so currently I'm brainstorming with Elan on this matter. Best possible scenario is to incorporate such functionality in the 0.9 library... hopefully more to come soon.
it wouldnt actually take too much to do this in alexandria, just a scanner plus a metadata agent (both python), plus something in plex itself to make it launch the emulator, and some tweeks to plexhelper to make it hand over the gamepad binding.
I know. Working on it.
I have a forked version of trevor.cortez's plugin that works alright (although it's kinda hacky). I was going to do some more work on it, but because of the changes coming to Plex, I think I'm just going to wait it out and see what 0.9 brings. From the sounds of it, it will be much easier to implement this sort of functionality in a clean way.
Did you guys happen to see RessurectionXtras (with a huge amount of rom coverart, synopsis etc created by the xbox-scene) and MacScene Topic (starting a TMDB-like database for roms)?
This could be a very interesting project and maybe it would be useful to work together on this?
Hey,
just bumping this to see whats happening…??
Well, now that .9 is officially in the wild, is anyone interested in dusting this off? It’s something, I for one, would love to see!
Rick
This would be awesome if it came to fruition especially with the Media Manager in Plex 9
+1, especially if controller support was directly through Plex as well.
