Are straight file lists possible?

Hi all,

I was wondering if there was a scanner, or some way that I could list a folder contents for playing?

I have three shows where the metadata scanner does not really fit, they are not series of shows, but come out periodically.

The Daily Show

The Colbert Report

World Series of Poker

For example:

world.series.of.poker.2011.main.event.part.23.720p.hdtv.x264-bajskorv.mkv

world.series.of.poker.2011.main.event.part.24.720p.hdtv.x264-bajskorv.mkv

World.Series.Of.Poker.2011.e28.HR.HDTV.XviD-AT.avi

World.Series.of.Poker.2011.E27.HR.HDTV.XviD-AT.avi

World.Series.of.Poker.2011.Final.Table.Top.3.to.Winner.Part.3.of.3.ESPNRip.HDTV.XviD.WSOP-BoA.avi

World.Series.of.Poker.2011.Final.Table.Top.4.to.3.Part.2.of.3.ESPNRip.HDTV.XviD.WSOP-BoA.avi

World.Series.of.Poker.2011.Main.Event.Final.Table.720p.HDTV.x264-BAJSKORV.mkv

All come out as “World Series Of Poker” but I have no idea which one is which from the interface.

My RSS feeds dump all my new stuff into a single folder, from there I name it correctly and place it into a structure which then works perfectly with Plex.

I just need my temporary holding location allowed to be more free form.

Any ideas?

I use the Video Plug-ins view for this, simply add folders and you should be good to go.

That method won’t work long term. For a temp folder I suggest making a movie section and using the video files scanner. Plex won’t try to match against any metadata or anything. You can select “by folder” to browse by folder or you can use other filters to just see the list of filenames IIRC. FWIW the episodes of daily show and colbert report that I have are named with the date and plex picks them up fine.
