I will be installing a plex media server and am not computer savvy. I can do some but I will need help on equipment purchase and help setting everything up. It will be fairly involved with a dedicated NAS server as I want the capability to have my married children have access to my movies. I have an extensive dvd collection of about 1500 DVDs and Blu-ray’s. What type of IT person would I call to help with equipment purchase and initial setup? Are there individuals that do this type of work as well as being an IT guy? With being able to log in to my computer ( I live in Utah ) they would not have to live nearby. The problem is that a lot of IT guys might not be familiar with Plex. After set up, I can do the ripping of movies. Any thoughts?

I’d have a number of questions before we proceeded, but this is very feasible. If you’d be more open to coaching than actually hiring help, this is a pretty great community. However you prefer to approach things, I’m sure we could help you get dialed in, sir.
