At the time when the artist was added to the library, it must have been set to german.
You can only change this matching by performing the Plex Dance “light” (meaning: omit step 4) with all albums by that artist.
(Alternatively, you could try to ‘Fix Match’ at the artist level. But I’m not sure this will work with an older library.)
