Can anyone tell me why Plex doesn’t support ASS/SSA subtitles? I would say 80% of the films I’ve run across have ASS subtitles, and the server won’t play them. SRT doesn’t seem to be the industry standard anymore.
When can we expect better subtitle support? Seems like a massive gap.
It depends on the client. iOS, iPadOS and tvOS for example support ass/ssa subtitles.
Bummer, I mostly use ShieldTV. Sometimes FireTV. Occasionally AppleTV is there’s original content I want to pay for and watch.
Yeah that was one of the reasons i switched back from my Shield TV Pro to the ATV 4K.
