I get that it’s tricky on Android and other platforms with lot’s of old devices to support advanced subtitle formats like .ass/ssa for one reason or another, but what is the excuse for not supporting .ass/ssa on the new PS5 app? The PS5 is very powerful and video transcoding shouldn’t happen because of subtitles on modern devices in 2020. It is rather disappointing to see that Plex is not supporting this on yet another device that should be capable.
This is interesting since (ASS) subs are supported on the Plex app preview for PS4/PS4 Pro although these type of subs are located too low on the TV-screen making them “cropped”, something I have notified @Moussa about who is the main man working on the Plex app for PS.
