Audio books are a low overhead media that should be supported. We can already listen to our music streaming on our devices while the screen is locked, the system already remembers where we left off on audio and people have made metadata scrapers specifically for audio books. But all the “work-a-rounds” are clunky at best.
We would love to have a Library Type for Audio Books, that ties into the metadata scraper that is out in the world for Audible. Should be extremely similar to the music, but some layouts for authors, book readers, and series of books.
I have been working on my library for a while now, using different work-a-rounds to play audio books. But having to manually tag everything, and work with non-native agents, makes it a pain. But it is such a great media format to support.. See my Screencap to see what it could look like…
