Audio desync after some playback

Server Version#: 1.28.2.6151

Hi everyone,

Have been using Plex for over a year now. I have streamed different quality videos with no issues.

Recently, I have noticed that the audio desyncs after some time has passed in the playback. Pause/Play fixes it, so does exiting and replaying the video. It is an easy temporary fix, but it is very annoying and I am not sure what causes this issue.

Has anyone else had similar issues, and how did you fix it?

Which Plex client type is used?
Is the video Direct Played, Direct Streamed, or Transcoded? (check with the Plex Dashboard of the web app)
Are you using any external speakers, AVRs, soundbars etc?
Which type of connection is between these and the device with the Plex client?

Hi,

Playing via Samsung app.

I am using external speakers, Bluetooth connection (They have worked fine before, so I am not sure if this is the issue).

Well, remove those speakers, then watch a movie using the built-in speakers of the TV.
Does the same issue happen?

Hi,
Just tested. Still happens.

Does the video have other audio tracks you can choose? (maybe a stereo track?)
If yes, try with these, if they exhibit the same issue.

Hi, it does not.

Previous shows that I have watched were also 5.1

This is an episode of Stargate: Atlantis.

Please

  1. activate debug logging (not ‘verbose’!)
  2. activate log files in the Samsung app as well: https://support.plex.tv/articles/216955788-logging-for-smart-tvs-tivo/
  3. quit Plex Server
  4. wait 1 minute
  5. start Plex Server
  6. wait 2 minutes
  7. play one of the affected videos for ~ 3 minutes
  8. wait 1 minute, then immediately
  9. fetch log files and attach them here

Hi,

Followed the steps, here is the log archive
Plex Media Server Logs_2022-09-23_02-56-58.zip (4.3 MB)

Thank you for the logs!
I have filed this as a bug internally.

Thanks for looking into this, hopefully its nothing too difficult to diagnose

Nearly a month and counting… no solution yet?
