Apologies if this has already been requested but here goes…
Frequently when working I like to listen to tv shows or films, the problems I have are:
A) streaming unnecessary video consumes my mobile data
B) having to cover or flip my phone because the video is playing on the screen (not ideal for work)
C) I am unable to lock my phone otherwise the file stops playing.
What I would really like is to be able to select any film or tv in my vast plex library and only stream the audio part it. Bonus points would be if I could lock my phone (Iphone) to preserve privacy and battery.
I’m not aware of a way to do this currently with plex but if I’ve somehow missed it please feel free to let me know!
I hope this is something that can be added in the app and It will be one I use massively!
You can do this now. Start the video in Plex. Lock the iPhone. Tap the screen (or press the lock button again), the “Player” should show up. Tap the “play” button. Re-lock the iPhone and you’re good to go!
I don’t know how I didn’t spot this before but thank you!! That pretty much solves most of my problems, I guess the video is still being downloaded? Not the end of the world, I have the Plex Pass so I could always download some content while at home.
