Audio output through USB wifi remote device?

I’ve recently purchased a Mele F10 PRO wifi wireless keyboard mouse remote, which has a headset feature built into the remote itself.

I’m trying to redirect audio output through the remote, which works to a certain degree. I can set ‘Audio output device’ and ‘Passthrough output device’ to the remote. It shows up as an option called ‘ALSA: Modiotek USB Headset, S/PDIF’.

This redirects GUI sound output fine, but as soon as I attempt to play a movie, it swaps back over to HDMI and plays the films audio over that output. Any idea how to prevent it from switching back to HDMI?

It doesn’t switch back to HDMI, Passthrough audio device only works for music playback (which includes system sounds as they are technically music files that are played) this has been mentioned in a number of posts.

Audio output for movies/TV’s shows may be available in future releases.
