First of all, I apologize if the answer to my question already exists somewhere on the forums, but I didn't have a whole lot of luck with any searches I could think of.
I'm wondering if it's possible to create plugins that can interact with the currently playing media (e.g. that have access to the audio source, for example). I've written a simple javascript library that controls Philips Hue lamps via their HTTP API, and I'm wondering if I could get something similar working with the plex web interface that could control the lights in response to beats detected in the audio stream.
Let me know if you're aware of any way to accomplish something similar to this.
