Have an odd problem with an audiobook. The files all exist and the meta data from one file to the next is consistent. The first four chapters of the book are fine but chapters 5-8 cut off in Plex at about file 69 and the rest are just ignored. The orphan files aren’t showing up anywhere in the library as unknown or anything. I’ve confirmed that the files are playable.
I have lost patience with Plex in regards of books. Now i just made an audiblebookshelf server and downloaded the app from google playstore.
Did you try downloading the Audiobooks plugin? This has worked great for me.
The Audiobooks plugin only adds the Audible storefront as a source for scraping metadata. It doesn’t solve playback issues.
+1 to fixing resume issues with plex for audiobooks. Surely it can’t be that hard for Devs to fix the resume feature. I have tried Chronicle and Plexamp, prefer plexamp visuals and features but just wish it would reliably remember position. And yes I do have “Store track progress” enabled.
I had this up and running in a workable fashion on my Windows server before the network drives took a dump last year. Just now getting around to putting my Audiobook library back together and I’m encountering an interesting issue setting it up on the QNAP…
For the most part, I can get books to match fine, but I am having no luck at all getting Author pics and info. Has something changed in the way the agent connects, or could this be something I’ve goofed somewhere?
Starting six days ago Plex on a Synology, Plex won’t properly list newly added audiobooks to an Audiobook library folder by All > Albums > Date Added. Have added several audiobooks since six days ago yet they are not being listed properly as the newest one’s. Sorting by All > Artist > Date Added shows the artists of the recently added audiobooks correctly. But sorting by Albums > Date Added does not. Currently running Plex Version 1.27.1.5916. If I drop recent audiobooks into the Music library folder they are displayed properly when Music library is sorted by Album > Date Added.
Not sure if the recent Plex update(s) are interfering with the Audiobooks agent to somehow cause only the Audiobooks library folder to incorrectly display albums by date added.
Edit: Restoring an older Plex database seems to have fixed the issue.
