Audiobooks as library type

Hi,

since years, I’am a big fan of audiobooks and would like to see it as a library type in Plex.

Yes there are a lot of suggestions here in the forum how to use the music library type for audiobooks - I’ve tried them nearly all and some are very handy, to get a good representation of the media in Plex.

Audiobooks are like music in the base. All needed information is saved in the most common audio files. E.g. Track, title artist even disks and much more. So no problem at that side.

What do I miss are you asking? I miss the handy management like I have it for movies and series, I always know where stopped and so on. An audiobook library should behave like a mix of movie/series library and audio library.

  1. Handle multiple files/disks and so on as one audiobook
  2. Store the position, where the playback stopped in the current audiobook and not in a single title.
  3. Mark as viewed/not viewed

So far I think these are the main features for me. Hope to find some more audiobook enthusiastic people in the Plex community.
