I have followed all of the directions for turning off the automatic creation of collections and deleted the unwanted collections that were created, however they return the next day. I had them turned off for a while and it seems that they were automatically turned back on after a server update and now nothing I do can make them go away. Any help is appreciated. I love collections, but I like to create my own.
Are your files using the mp4/m4v container format?
If so, they could have embedded meta data, which cause the collections to get re-created.
Verify this with a metadata editor, e.g. https://www.mp3tag.de/en/index.html
If the ‘Album’ metatag is populated in your files, Plex will add this file into a collection, named after the content of the Album tag.
Clear that particular metatag out.
