Auto create new library for collections

I just had a issue with the Emby beta that they are working to fix. I thought in the meantime I would give Plex another look. Overall it’s great, but I did run into one thing that’s a show stopper for me. Plex does not auto create a new library for Collections when I create collections. Instead the collection is placed in the library for the particular library I’m adding items to a collection from. On top of that the view for folders in a particular library is more like compact mode and no way to set it for icon view.

Having a separate library created when collections are created makes more sense than dumping the newly made collection into the library I’n creating libraries from.

I suppose what you’re asking for is already covered in this feature suggestion. If so, please comment/vote in that thread in order to help us avoid distracting or cannibalizing votes – in that case I’ll also close this thread as a duplicate.

Add Collections view to Home screen

Now that we have collections, it would be quite nice if there was an option to view them as a group directly from the home screen. This exists for Playlists, which are essentially another type of Collection, so why not add it for Collections? If some users don’t like this, maybe it could be optional (as most of the other plex-generated items (e.g. news, playlists, channels, etc.) are and/or should be).
